This is not a political post. It’s just a great read. I’m sure there will be contrary views, but to me it’s spot on.

They didn’t just hand him a medal.
They invented one.
Freshly minted. No waiting period. No historic lineage. No uncomfortable comparison to actual peace builders who spend their lives dodging bullets instead of mirrors. Just a brand-new FIFA Peace Prize, rolled out like an emotional support trophy for a man who had recently watched the real one go to someone else.
And when the moment came, he behaved exactly as expected. He did not wait for anyone to place it on him. He lifted the medal and looped it over his own head, right there on stage, like a child who cannot tolerate even a five-second delay between wanting and having.
Thin skin does not wait.
He smiled the tight, brittle smile of someone who needs the world to clap immediately or else he might fold into grievance. He called it one of the greatest honors of his life. He stood there beneath the lights as if peace itself had personally knighted him.
Here is the part they did not advertise on the ribbon.
There were no publicly disclosed nominees.
No shortlist.
No competition.
No transparent criteria.
No list of candidates who narrowly missed it.
No evidence that anyone else was ever seriously considered.
A peace prize with no contenders is not an award.
It is a delivery.
This is not how secure people behave. Secure people do not require a custom-built prize after missing out on the real one. Secure leaders do not need emergency pageantry to regulate disappointment. Secure adults do not need the room arranged so they never have to feel second.
The entire ceremony had the energy of a crowd politely indulging a fragile child at a birthday party thrown specifically so he would not notice another kid getting more attention at school. So they clap. They smile. They give him something shiny. They let him wear the ribbon first. Everyone is very careful not to set him off.
The medal is heavy.
The process behind it is hollow.
Real peace work is slow. It is anonymous. It rarely comes with a soundtrack or a stage manager or a gold globe sculpture placed strategically for photos. It does not require inventing a rival prize because one you wanted went to someone else.
But the toddler does.
Because thin-skinned men do not age into strength. They age into pageantry. They age into ceremonies designed to protect them from the unbearable injury of not being chosen. And when the world will not crown them, they commission a smaller crown and insist, with great force, that it counts the same.
Smile for the camera.
Clap on cue.
No nominees were harmed in the making of this victory.

I plan to celebrate victories not how they receive awards!!Show more3 months ago

My perspective is that there are two types of reality: subjective and objective. Based on the responses, I would say that most, if not all, were subjective, since objective reality is verifiable.
There were no surprising responses. I realized years ago that I was in a predominantly red forum, probably 80-20. My post was not intended to be political; it was about personality. That is why I didn’t mention the pardons of Juan Orlando Hernández and Changpeng Zhao, or the Epstein files.Show more3 months ago

It my be that what some people see as subjective are in fact objective. Border being open to border being closed. ***** into country non-stop to ***** entering country at a much lesser rate. Inflation from very high levels to much lesser tolerable levels. Wars across the globe in many countries to most curtailed/stopped to just one or two now. The brightest outlook, in my opinion, will be the next year or two were all the trillions of dollar investments in America taking hold, businesses opening, millions of jobs created and an astounding growth rate in America. All this happening while one side is doing everything they can to try to prevent all the great things from happening. Amazing how we can talk and not attack, demean, and name call each other.Show more3 months ago

Peacefully talking with people in a horse forum. 😀. The way I understand it, Cuellar and Blogojevich were pardoned because Trump felt they were unjustly targeted because they did not tow the line and spoke up against their party. > please note, I mentioned no party.Show more3 months ago
