2024 REMINGTON PARK THOROENDURO
Summer-Fall Season Online Handicapping Contest
PRIZES
THOROENDURO for the 2024 Thoroughbred Season at Remington Park will offer the following cash prizes, distributed to the top finishers, based on highest accumulated ‘virtual bankroll.’ The Grand Prize for ThoroEnduro 2024 will be a seat to the 2025 National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas (March 14-16, 2025 at Horseshoe Las Vegas). The prizes will be awarded to eligible contestants as follows:
- 1st Place/Grand Prize=$2,500 or 2025 NHC Seat ($5,500 value)
- 2nd Place=$1,000
- 3rd Place=$800
- 4th Place=$750
- 5th Place=$700
- 6th Place=$600
- 7th Place=$500
To be eligible to win the NHC Grand prize package you must be a member of the 2024 NHC Tour by November 6, 2024. You can join by going to ntra.com/nhc/membership/
The NTRA, is offering a discounted $25 membership for the remainder of the 2024 NHC Tour season for new members playing ThoroEnduro. Use promo code TOUR25 when joining.
NO NHC Tour points will be awarded in this contest.
Should the Grand Prize winner refuse the 2025 NHC Seat or already be double-qualified to the event, or is not an NHC Tour member, then they will receive the $2,500 cash prize for winning ThoroEnduro. The 2025 NHC Seat will then move to the 2nd Place finisher, or lower until it is accepted properly. The 2025 NHC Seat prize package (including funding for travel and hotel expenses), supersedes the cash amount awarded for a prize placing.
Any contestant who refuses or cannot accept, for whatever reason, the 2025 NHC Seat as a prize will only receive the cash prize for their placing, if one exists.
The THOROENDURO contestant who compiles the Most Winners via their contest-race selections will receive a $1,000 bonus prize. In the event more than one contestant shares the highest amount of Most Winners, then the tie-breaker for this prize will go to the contestant with the highest accumulated “virtual” bankroll. If still tied after that, the $1,000 will be split evenly among those tied for Most Winners selected.
It is a possibility that a contestant can receive both a ‘virtual bankroll’ cash-prize and the prize for correctly selecting the Most Winners.
All Prizes will be paid by check in US Dollars.
THOROENDURO is a FREE online contest that will begin with the Remington Park racing on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024. Participants are required to register and provide a working email address as well as a residential address and contact phone number. Once doing so, they can log on to THOROENDURO and select one entry in each of at least three game races selected by the THOROENDURO administrator. Past performances for each challenge race are available on the game page, courtesy of Brisnet.com. Participants are credited with a "virtual" $2 win, $2 place and $2 show wager on each of their selections. The total pari-mutuel pay-outs according to Remington Park official race results will be accrued to the participant's "virtual" bankroll.
EXAMPLE: if your selection in THOROENDURO RACE 1 finishes second, paying $5.60 to place and $3.10 to show, your selection in THOROENDURO RACE 2 does not finish first, second, or third (off the board), your selection in THOROENDURO RACE 3 finishes third and pays $3.20 to show, your “virtual” bankroll will be credited or increased by $11.90 ($5.60, $3.10 and $3.20).
Please note, on the following days/nights more than three contest races will be used for THOROENDURO: -
- Friday, September 20, 2024 (Oklahoma-bred Turf Stakes Night)
- Sunday, September 29, 2024 (Oklahoma Derby Day)
- Friday, October 18, 2024 (Oklahoma Classics Night)
- Friday, November 8, 2024 (Oklahoma-bred Future Stars Night)
- Friday, December 13, 2024 (Springboard Mile Night).
Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 13, more than three races may be used for the remaining contest dates of ThoroEnduro.
Participants can remain eligible in THOROENDURO by having at least one of their selections run in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in their respective race. However, they will get no "virtual bankroll” credit for a 4th-place finisher. Only selections that finish in 1st, 2nd or 3rd position will receive "virtual bankroll” credit based on the official pari-mutuel payoffs for that respective race. Please note: There is no maximum cap placed on the win, place and show payoffs.
Contestants playing THOROENDURO will have one ‘Life’ before getting knocked out of the game for any length of time, or permanently. Contestants can gain additional “Lives” by acquiring The LUCKY HORSESHOE which acts as a free pass that allows players to survive in THOROENDURO if they do not enter selections for a race day or if all of their race selections fail to finish in the top four positions of their respective race.
THOROENDURO contestants that lose all of their eligibility (regular life and any Lucky Horseshoes) may be forced to sit out a few days of THOROENDURO, being placed “In the Barn.” As each new racing week begins at Remington Park (normally on Wednesdays) all contestants that were “In the Barn” will be let back in to play THOROENDURO. The final get-back in THOROENDURO Wednesday will be on November 6, 2024. After that date, if a contestant loses all of their eligibility status (regular life and any Lucky Horseshoes) they will be completely eliminated from THOROENDURO and consideration for prizes.
All players who are signed in to play THOROENDURO before the first contest night of Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, will have two (2) Lucky Horseshoes on their account. All eligible contestants will receive additional Lucky Horseshoes on:
- Thursday, September 26, 2024
- Wednesday, October 16, 2024
- Wednesday, November 6, 2024
Since all players are out of the barn and back in THOROENDURO at the start of every new racing week at Remington Park, no players will lose eligibility on the final race date of the previous week (normally Saturday, except for Sunday, Sept. 29). This holds true until November 6, 2024, after which date, if a contestant is in the barn, they remain in the barn and are eliminated from ThoroEnduro.
Participants do not have to make a selection in all contest races. In the event of a late scratch of a participant's selection, the participant's selection is automatically transferred to the post-time (off-time) favorite for the respective race.
REGISTRATION
Participants who register for THOROENDURO in the timeframe leading up to the beginning of the game on Friday, September 13, 2024 will begin THOROENDURO with TWO LUCKY HORSESHOES in addition to their regular player ‘Life.’
Contestants can continue to register for THOROENDURO after the beginning of the game on Friday, September 13, 2024. However, they will not receive a LUCKY HORSESHOE to begin their play. Instead, they will have only one ‘Life’ while they compete and will be need to wait for additional LUCKY HORSESHOES to be awarded at a later date.
The Registration to play THOROENDURO in 2024 will close at 6pm-Central, before the first Remington Park race on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
SURVIVING TO WIN PRIZES
Players must “survive” THOROENDURO through the final race date of the 2024 Thoroughbred Season at Remington Park, in December, or the game conclusion, in order to be eligible for prize consideration. Check thoroenduro.com for complete updated standings.
THOROENDURO begins Friday, September 13, 2024
and concludes when the last Remington Park live race is official on the final date of the season. Should for any reason, Remington Park have to cease the exporting of its races, ThoroEnduro will end immediately. If the contest has completed Day 26 on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, then the game will be declared official and full prizes will be awarded to those in winning contest positions at that time. If ThoroEnduro is forced to end prior to completion of the contest date of Oct. 26, 2024, then all cash prizes will be half of the original intended value. The 2025 NHC Seat will still be awarded as originally intended.
THOROENDURO scoring is based on pari-mutuel information as supplied by the official Equibase Charts for Remington Park racing. Race selections must be made no less than thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of the first race of a respective Remington Park racing program.
In the event of a tie for the highest accumulated “virtual” pari-mutuel total (bankroll), the player selecting the Most Winners throughout the contest will be declared the Grand Prize Winner. If there is still a tie for highest accumulated “virtual” bankroll after utilizing the tiebreaker, the contestants that are tied will split the prizes they are eligible to receive. For example, if there is a tie for 1st Place with two contestants that cannot be separated using the tie-breaker, then those two contestants will split the combined 1st-place and 2nd-place prizes, evenly. This process will be used to decide all finishers eligible for prizes if need be.
Winners will be notified by email.
